We have just received a top-up of some of the favourite sold out styles- including brand new styles! From 80’s flashback neon greens, pinks and oranges, to animal prints and heavy metal bling- there is a Toy for everyone.
Billed as Teen Vogue’s next big thing, and topping Oprah’s list of favourite things, Toy Watches have since become the ‘it’ wristwatch and ‘must-have’ item among influentials and tastemakers around the world; an anti-luxury statement in a luxury obsessed culture.Founded in 2006 by Milan-based designer and wristwatch aficionado Marco Mavilla, the watches are inspired by the classic Swiss designs- so they not only look cool bu also serve the practical purpose of telling the time accurately! Designed in Italy, using Miyota Quartz Movement, these watches are both pioneering and indispensable. They use a mix of materials, from ageless classical steel to high-strength, ultra light, high-tech polycarbonate.
Dubbed the ‘Rolex’ of the plastic watch, the lightweight and oversized Toy watches take their inspiration from high end watches, namely two of the finest and most collectable Rolex models: The Submariner ( as worn by James Bond) and the Daytona, made famous by Butch Cassidy ( Paul Newman). Some of the watches also closely resemble the Chanel J12.
Pop in for a try on, check out the new press below or buy online here and join the Toy Watch gang too!
Hot of the runway…and by hot, do we mean hot!! Check out these showstopping showgirl heels designed by Carrie Cooper ( aka Ms Beau Coops) and Pip Edwards.
The collection marks a first between Edwards ( Sass & Bides accessories designer) and Cooper, who say the collaboration came about over a dinner one night.
Edwards debut into footwear is self described as “Barbarella goes to a Russian strip club”…and just to top that off, the metallic vinylite showgirl heels have actually been manufactured by a strip heel specialist!
Ohhweee, bring on the stilts we say. Watch this space Sass fans! Check out the sneak peek below.
Here are a few new Lover press shots to give you a sneak peek of the upcoming Autumn/Winter 2010 collection from Lover .We can imagine lazily swanning around in a field wearing any of the pieces from the new collection…aptly named ‘The Harvest’. … We can’t show you the look book pictures yet (as much as we would love to!) But get excited Lover fans, as it certainly doesn’t disappoint! The Harvest reads almost like a ‘best of’s’ collection…with all the lace, paisley, velvet a Lover girl could wish for.

Where the wild things are…French vogue editor Carine Roitfeld sparked a revolution when she was spotted at Paris Fashion week in her Mongolian shaggy fur coat…and since then the fashion world can’t get enough of this fuzzy trend.
Channel your inner wild thing with the Yeti-look coats. Shaggy, fringed and looped knits and faux fur are back from their burial grounds in the 70’s and are a fun and easy to wear trend which has the bonus of being super practical and cozy for the chilly winter months.
This season’s winter outerwear is all about textures…pulling inspiration and unlikely style icons from these shaggy-haired fur ball monsters from childhood nightmares. Once on the body however, these shaggy furs are less terrifying and epitomize a glamorous bohemian and rock chic style.
As with any bold garment that adds fluff and volume, one should remember to keep the rest of the look simple…our favourites from Shakuhachi, Stolen Girlfriends and Deadly Ponies are all big on volume, from the perfect faux fur wolf coat, to the oversized shearling knit and Aztec inspired jacket, will be best balanced out by a skinny fit pant or leggings, or a fitted bandage skirt.

With jeans being the most valuable player in a guys wardrobe, a black wax coated denim is a now essential staple in the mix. A little dressier than traditional denim washes, this style is also perfect for these whose jeans don’t fancy the trip to the laundry quite so often. A sturdy black wax denim colour hides a multitude of sins and looks pretty badass with a pair of roughed up Vans and tats too…if your that way inclined!
Once deemed a fashion trend favoured only by the rock stars, this bad boy look is now a must have for winter 2010. We’ve picked out our favourite black denim looks, with the wax coated black denim with minimalist detailing reigning supreme. Team a pair of the leather look Flux Jeans, or our best selling Nudie Slim Jim’s with a loose tee, or unbuttoned shirt. Chronicles of Never’s new diffusion line Black Noise/White Rain have the trend nailed with their new’ Cetus’ drop crotch black jean and Ksubi have it covered with their staple Black Van Winkle style. Take inspiration from these classic rockers and nab yourself a pair!

Not only will it luxe up and lengthen the pins, but leather-look leggings instantly update an outfit giving it a rock-chic vibe perfect for casual days and stylish nights out. This wild-child trend has been sported down the runway by the likes of Alexander Wang and Balmain and are a wardrobe staple on some of our favourite style muses such as Erin Wasson, Mary Kate Olsen and of course, miss Moss.
So ditch the associations with biker girls and dominatrix, and jump on board this trend. From Sass and Bides original black rats, to their new second skin wax jean ‘The Lover’, Camilla and Marc’s fitted biker style Ida pant and Life with Birds real deal leather pants- our designers have this trend covered from top to toe. Offset your pair of choice with a long line top, or oversized tee and layered up with a blazer or loose soft knit sweater to add a feminine feel. Finish off by accessorizing with ankle boots or platforms…and she’s got a ticket to ride.
