Believe it or not, these historical mural reproductions are made up solely of sugar! Edible blue paint, white sugar tiles, frosting and icing are the only materials that Montreal-based artist Shelley Miller uses to create her pieces. Referencing the sugar industry’s long and significant history, her azulejo style murals are installed in several ports including Montreal and Salvador, Brazil.

Of course, Shelley’s creations hardly last forever as the environment’s natural elements will slowly take it’s toll on these sweet works of art.

We would just eat it.

We’ve receive some new stock from I Love Ugly in the last few days here at Superette
In addition to I Love Ugly‘s infamous Zespys, Jontys and 5 Panel Caps we were stoked to open our boxes and see new shirts, tees and of course the much anticipated I Love Ugly watches!
With the new stock on the shelves we were lucky enough to catch up with the man behind the brand,
Mo Kheir.  Mo is currently the Head of Branding & Industrial Design for ILU and works closely with I Love Ugly’s head designer Valentin Ozich. With a Masters in Architecture and multiple National and International awards in design and branding Mo is constantly pushing design boundaries and he’s bloody good at it.

Cappuccino Popsicles Y U M

As always here at Superette we are into good coffee in a big way!
Even though Winter is on the horizon we still love the idea of getting our daily jolt via a cold treat.
Check out this amazing recipe we found for cappuccino popsicles.
Image via cupcakesandcashmere, recipe via rachelraymag.

What you’ll need:

Popsicle moulds (this recipe makes 10)
Popsicle sticks or craft sticks work well too
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 cups plus 2 tbsp. brewed espresso, at room temperature

3/4 cup heavy cream
2 teaspoons dark unsweetened cocoa powder
How to:

Step 1/
In a bowl, whisk together the espresso, 2 tsp. cocoa powder and the remaining 1/4 cup condensed milk; freeze for about 1 hour – or until solid.
Step 2 /
Meanwhile combine the cream and 1/4 cup condensed milk – Add the secondary mixture on top of the frozen coffee layer in the moulds. Freeze for another hour.

Step 3/
Add the craft sticks down to the coffee layer. Freeze until solid (about 4 hours).
When you’re ready to indulge, run warm water over the molds to remove the pops!
