Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularized in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Happy Fourth of July with Superette

In spirit of the Fourth of July, we’re donning our stars and stripes and rounding up a few quintessential American ways to celebrate the day on our antipodean shores.

1.    Wear Red, White and Blue.
First things first, Fourth of July celebrations are nothing without the right coloured gears to rock. We’ve gathered up our pick of the best American-inspired items on the racks to deck yourself out in this week.

Left to right: ATG Sailor Stripe pocket tee, Crew Neck sweat, Vans Authentic in Red, Flux Birdland Chino pants, New Era L.A. Dodgers and Phillies caps and Bassike Athletic Fleece crew sweat.

Left to right: Wildfox Brat Pack fleece, Motel Sylvie sweat, Wildfox Fourth of July knit, Ksubi Albercerque shorts in Hayday Mayday, sass & bide Work in Progress knit and Vans Authentic in Navy.

2. Hot Dogs and Hamburgers.

What better way to pay a patriotic salute to USA’s independence than indulging in some classic American eats? For some seriously authentic fare, visit:
The Brat Pack cart in Wellington for a traditional hot dog. Our favourite is the cheese kransky, complete with rocket fuel, onions and American Mustard. The perfect late-night snack stop off on your way home (open till 1am) or pay them a visit at the City Markets on Sunday’s.
Cadillac Diner in Wellington for the closest authentic diner-style experience you will get this side of the equator. The huge burgers live up to their giant sized namesakes promise, with names such as Empire State, King Kong, Jukebox and State Trooper. Alongside their famous burger menu, you’ll find a whole raft of American-style dishes such as ribs, fried chicken, cheese fries and even pancakes to satiate all your Fourth of July cravings too.

1    3.   Eat American Candy
Nothing says Fourth of July more than piles of iconic American candy (and yes, it’s candy, not lollies!). Hidden away in industrial Mt Wellington in Auckland you will find Martha’s Backyard – a candy land of American junk food. Think Twinkies, Reece’s pieces, Cheetos, Doritos as well as all the only-in-America food jems you could dream of like Snapple iced tea, Chip’s Ahoy, Pop Tarts and even Kraft Mac and Cheese and Shake ‘N’ Bake chicken. Make this your first port of call for any kind of Fourth of July celebrations.
2    4.    Hold a Beer Pong tournament
Fourth of July is a great excuse to round up your mates and hold a Beer Pong tournament. Beer Pong is fun whatever the occasion however being a game synonymous with college frat parties and independence day drinking celebrations, it should be essential part of any Fourth of July plan. Equip yourself with some oversized red cups, some ping-pong balls and a well stocked bar of beer. The iconic red frat cups and Budweiser beer are available from Martha’s Backyard.
